What does “TalkBham” mean?

When you Talk Birmingham, you talk the language of the city. We help our students learn what they will hear at parks, the grocery store, the post office, doctor’s offices, schools, and many other places.

We believe in a Community Health approach to language learning. We take our students on “tours” of local landmarks to practice the language, get to know each other, and become more comfortable going out in the city.

Everyone is welcome in Birmingham! Our program has offered classes for English, Spanish, and Tamil, and we hope to offer even more language courses in the future. English isn't the only language spoken in the city, and we plan to share Birmingham's diverse culture with as many students as we can.
