Evan Hudson

Evan Hudson is a Certified Health Education Specialist who is passionate about the ways that language learning can benefit our health. He has a Bachelors in Community Health, Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language, and is enrolled in a Doctoral program for Community Health Promotion. His current project researches the ways that language learning through acculturation can improve health outcomes for students.

Estela Tirado

Estela Tirado is a Latina community education advocate for immigrant communities in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the editor and founder of El Nido, the first parent magazine in Spanish, filled with resources to support immigrant parents in building their lives in Alabama. Her professional experience ranges from working for foreign governments, non-profits, school districts, and the private sector. She is an entrepreneur with El Nido and Mexicatessen AL. Estela believes that communication and literacy are key to building a thriving future; she was a bilingual coach at Small Magic, where she empowered parents with the tools to improve their children's literacy development. She likes to cook or travel back home to Mexico in her free time.

Quen Mooney

Quenteeria Mooney graduated from Judson College and double majored in Biology and Chemistry with an honors distinction. She currently works as a radiology clinical research coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her current position holds many responsibilities, one of the most important being a liaison to ensure clinical trials are conducted smoothly and ethically for our patients. She has extensive volunteer experience, including teaching ESL classes during a mission trip to Queens, NYC. She is excited to get to know everyone and their stories and hopes she can give her students a meaningful experience.

Neha Hattimare

Neha Hattimare is a biochemistry and public health professional with a strong academic foundation and diverse experience in the healthcare sector. She holds an undergraduate and master's degree in Biochemistry, alongside a second master's in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), completed in 2024. Prior to her graduate studies, Neha worked as a medical coder in India, where she developed a keen understanding of healthcare systems, data accuracy, and the importance of efficient medical documentation. With a blend of scientific expertise and public health knowledge, Neha is passionate about contributing to healthcare improvements through research, policy, and data-driven approaches.

Sangeetha Senthilkumar

I am Sangeetha Senthilkumar. I am basically from India, TamilNadu. I graduated with a Masters of Engineering in computer science. I worked as an Assistant professor in Engineering college in Chennai, India. I'm passionate about teaching. I love to dance, listen to music, and practice yoga. This is an excellent platform to teach my mother language Tamil and also share our culture. Tamil is one of the most classical languages in the world.
